All the most important clubbing news you missed while you were crying over your NYE/NYD comedown

    Technics SL-1200 revealed

Panasonic's updated turntable has been in the pipeline since last year, following a petition for a relaunch. Staggeringly upping the hype this week, they've released images of the deck and it's a true shiny sight to behold. The manufacturers who created the DJ world's most essential piece of kit back in 1972 plan to release the new version later this year. The Grand Class SL-1200GAE is limited to 1200 units while there will also be a non-limited Grand Class 1200G. They're expected to set you back a mere $4,000 according to reports. The majority of us will likely just stick to our secondhand mk2's off eBay then. Originally ceasing production in 2010, the recent resurgence of buying and using vinyl encouraged Technics to develop the new line. During the week before Christmas, HMV reported selling one turntable a minute, demonstrating the demand of listening to the format, although their range is limited to one record player.

    ENTER Ibiza is over

Richie Hawtin has ceased his residency in Ibiza. After four seasons he will not be returning to Space with his immersive club night ENTER. Richie has said it's time for ENTER to move on and continue to explore locations around the world based upon their core principles: Music. Sake. Technology. Experience. The concept revolving around the black dot intrigued partygoers and offered sets from leading techno DJs and something a little different. Respect his decision or not, props should be given to Richie for having the integrity to follow his instinct. Where Richie will pop up during the island's upcoming season will be interesting, will he resume his relationship with Cocoon or venture elsewhere? Ben Klock’s Essential Mix contribution named the best of 2015

Berghain resident Ben Klock mixed his first Essential Mix for BBC late last year and it has since been named the best one of 2015. Pete Tong mentions in the intro that they’ve been trying to get him on the weekly mix series for ages, finally doing so in October. It's a masterclass in building up tension and releasing it in spurts, designed to send a dancefloor into utter mayhem.

    Coachella 2016 initial lineup announced

First names of who will be heading down to California in April include LCD Soundsystem, Black Coffee, Marco Carola, DJ Koze, and The Black Madonna. Proving the festival intends to showcase the more interesting and eclectic artists in electronic music. Could 2016 be the year of the bucket list voyage to America? Maybe so, but we’ll be waiting for Burning Man details before we lay our cards out on the table or book any flights.

Skepta one of GQ's best dressed

Skepta place number seven in GQ's best-dressed list for 2016, one position below boyband heartthrob Harry Styles. Skepta last year placed at number 36 on the annual list. The rapper has previously worn clothing by designer Nasir Mazhar and has long been linked with streetwear brands like Nike. And to think, not too long ago trackies branded you a chav. MBE handed to Goldie

Remember last year when Jamal Edwards was awarded an MBE for his contributions to music in the Queen’s New Year Honours list? Well now Goldie has been named to receive the same recognition. Instrumental to founding the roots of the drum 'n' bass scene, with his Metalheadz record label.
